WHAT THEY NEEDED | LAUNCH AN ONLINE MAGAZINE
Photo Zoom is an online magazine dedicated to the art of photography. This digital magazine focuses on the ins & outs, tricks & tips and everything else that has to do with people’s love of photography. This magazine was designed to entertain and inform both amateur and professional photographers about industry news, reviews, trends, articles, interviews, tutorials, galleries, competitions, and advice. This project started from absolute zero, completely from scratch. The finished project launched within 2 months. This project was a Phoenix Agency initiative that was used to demonstrate and showcase our agency’s ability to work within short deadline with nothing in place.
WHAT PHOENIX AGENCY DID
ONLINE LAUNCH
Upon Photo Zoom’s launch, Phoenix Agency was responsible for all creative materials, production, marketing, advertising, social media, and deployment. We asked for articles and images from all varieties of photography enthusiasts, and this allowed us to create a very dynamic magazine.
What Photo Zoom was able to accomplish with only a handful of dedicated enthusiasts, represented something that major players in the photography industry hadn’t been able to do before. Phoenix Agency’s strategies were able to mobilize and engage a community that lacked an outlet for sharing their passion, and with zero business connections within the photography industry, we were able to become leaders in this kind of initiative.
HOW IT BEGAN
This began as a small in-house hobby project with the intent of bringing the amateur photographer community together, but it transformed into a highly successful online magazine.
First launched in January of 2011, PhotoZOOM is a digital magazine publication dedicated to the art of photography. It was spearheaded by the Phoenix Agency in conjunction with select marketing and advertising managers who were familiar with the quality of our work and shared in our passion for the art of photography.
THE RESULT
Originally intended as a three issue experiment, Phoenix Agency will be bringing Photo Zoom back due to outside interest.

In January 2011 we started at “zero participation” – and in the first 3 issues, we were able to achieve the following.
